BodyBugg Update: Just Keep Losing
Posted by Sarah Caron on Fit Fare.
This was a harder week in my BodyBugg journey. With two sick kids, and feeling a little under the weather myself, I ate more than I should have and also walked and exercised less.My steps dipped for the first time in weeks and I had a hard time meeting my calorie goals (it certainly didn’t help that a skipped a few days of logging my food intake).
It wasn’t that I wanted to give up. Quite the contrary. However, my family took priority over my loss. So I sacrificed where I had to in order to meet their needs and my own too.
This past week could have been a recipe for disaster, however I managed to still lose about 1.5 lbs. That certainly is nothing to scoff at. Although behind the loss goal that BodyBugg’s system says I should be meeting, I am very happy with my progress and my continued loss. For me, a consistent loss is winning at losing.
Unfortunately, the BodyBugg has forced me to set a date goal and since I am not meeting it, I got a thumbs down today. That wasn’t so motivating. I think losing about 1.5 lbs should be cause for thumbs up - whether or not it’s what the BodyBugg program thinks I should have lost. Just my two cents.
And, considering that I am now wearing clothes that I haven’t looked at since before my daughter was conceived, I am pretty darn happy. So what now? Do I reset my goals to make BodyBugg happy or keep chugging along and ignore the thumbs down? The downside to reseting my goal is that I will lose the stats and whatnot as well as the continued progress wins.
What would you do? How do you measure success in health-related goals?
