The Commander’s Wild Side Giveaway

commanders.jpgThrough our recent interviews with both Ti Adelaide Martin and Tory McPhail and book reviews (here and here) of their newest publication, The Commander’s Wild Side, you know that the Well Fed Network team is a big fan of this New Orleans institution. Last night, we were excited to see both the restaurant (Commander’s Palace) and both Ti and Tory appear on Bravo Network’s Top Chef finale.

To celebrate, we’re giving away three brand new copies of Commander’s Wild Side. Want to win? It’s easy … comment below and let us know what you like most about New Orleans food, cooking, Commander’s Palace or Ti and Tory, and you’ll be entered to win. Twitter or blog about this giveaway (and tell us about it here with a link) and you’ll receive another entry. Winners (three) will be chosen by random generator on Monday at 8 pm EST, so you have plenty of time.

Remember, you have to be in it to win it. Good luck!

Great giveaway! I love the flavors and fun of New Orleans food!

my favorite thing about commander’s palace is that my three of my friends work in its kitchen, LOL. but seriously, i appreciate any restaurant that keeps tradition alive, which is precisely what commander’s palace does.

New Orleans cuisine is fantastic because of the variety of local ingredients combined with classical French technique for Creole and the building of multiple layers of flavor from the various spices and peppers they use. When you have good ingredients and solid technique, it’s hard to go wrong! It doesn’t hurt that I love spicy food.

I love New Orleans food so much that I designed a rub around some of the most popular ingredients.

The best thing about NO food is the spices, plus my husband just LOVES etouffee.

Our most recent visit was this past January (2009). The renovations are amazing. And while the food remains astounding in producing definitive versions of NOLA classics, it is the consistently stellar service that continues to make this “grande dame” a joy to return to again and again. There is truly no place like it on earth…vive la difference!

tradition is the key. and commader’s palace sure does fill the bill.
i sure would like to win.
God bless u all!

I look foward to visiting commander palace.
