The Next Food Network Star - Finale
Posted by Patsy Kreitman on Edible TV.
At this point, I am sure that even if you haven’t watched the finale, you must know who won. Between the early posting on Food Network’s website, to all of the buzz on the internet, it’s hard not to find out even if you cover your eyes and ears.
For the finale, the remaining 3 finalists were asked to make a 4-1/2 minute pilot for their potential new show. Since I am a bit late in watching it myself, I’ll just give you the overview of what I thought.
Lisa’s Beautiful Basics was well done. She appeared a bit more comfortable and made the dish look easy to make. Hard to do when you only have 4-1/2 minutes to work with. I could definitely see her getting a show on the Style Network or Fine Living.
Adam’s Hungry in Philadelphia was fun to watch. His interaction with the person on the web-cam made it easy for him share his sense of humor. His Dancing Beer Can Chicken looked delicious and I know I am hoping they post the recipe so I can try it. Looks like Food Network liked his idea so much, they created a new show - Ask Aida. Seems VERY similar, not sure which came first but it does seem like an interesting coincidence.
Aaron’s show was Big Daddy’s Kitchen. It seemed like he was getting more comfortable in front of the camera and he was able to come off as a professional. Even though Aaron won the title of The Next Food Network Star, I am not sure I’ll be watching. I don’t know what it is about him, but his personality doesn’t appeal to me when it comes to a cooking show. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and I do wish him lots of success.
This season has been interesting, and I was really sorry to see some very talented people go home and not make it to the finale - Kelsey and Shane, for example. I do hope I see them again in some type of show since they both have so much potential.
