Grilled Cheese: 50 Recipes to Make You Melt

Grilled Cheese

So you think you know grilled cheese?  Well, let me tell you there are endless possibilities, far beyond this collection of delicious recipes.  However, if you need to get some great grilled cheese ideas and you are at a loss aside from Velveeta or Kraft singles, then this is the book for you.  The cover alone is enough to whet your appetite for deliciously creamy melted cheese with a wide variety of fillings and bread options.

The “simple” would be on page 30 with Garlic Grilled Cheese on rye to the more complex Big Fat Griddled Scaloppine on page 83.  Each one is easy to prepare and quite satisfying as a stand-alone sandwich.  I would suggest cooking up some roasted tomato soup with fresh basil or perhaps a fresh German potato salad with apple-wood smoked bacon as perfect accompaniments.

Alas, you may be asking yourself how these can be prepared on your grill and not the stove top.  Quite elementary my dear Watson, simply utilize a cast iron skillet on the grill or place the sandwiches on the upper rack of your grill and watch them closely.  Either way, the extra smokiness from the grill will be a welcome addition to the sandwich and adds a level of complexity that will wow your family and guests.

Lastly, if you so dare, take a trip to the sweeter side and prepare some French Toast stuffed with Strawberries and Cream Cheese.  You will love the flavors and can top of the sandwich with white chocolate dipped strawberries and a nice glass of Champagne.

Get out there and get grilling!
