Holiday Rum Balls / Colleen FischerSet your TiVos, fellow food TV lovers: Food Network’s annual Season’s Eatings slate in full swing, offering tips and recipes to get you ready for the holiday season.

Saturday night, tune in for the programs that get me in the Christmas spirit on Holiday Cookie Night. Following a Yuletide-themed episode of Paula’s Party at 7 p.m. Eastern, we’ll be treated to three hours of cookie-baking mania.

Be still my heart!

At 8, Food Network has a special matching up with the theme of this year’s 12 Days of Cookies newsletter, All-Star Holiday Cookies. Following that, indulge in Paula’s Cookie Swap for some down-home Southern cookie classics. Frost your evening with a special Cookies Unwrapped at 10 p.m. Eastern.

The fun does not stop with dessert. Sunday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. Eastern sees the premiere of Food Network Holiday Extravaganza, the latest in Food Network’s line of “celeb chefs have a party!” holiday shows. The Neelys, Sunny Anderson, and Guy Fieri join longtime Food Network stalwarts Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis, and Bobby Flay on this year’s special.

Also Sunday evening, you can catch a Food Network Challenge doubleheader, with Extreme Holiday Cakes at 7 and Edible Ornaments at 8. Following the Extravaganza, stay tuned for the All-Star Holiday Dessert Battle featuring Paula Deen and Cat Cora versus (the now-reinstated) Robert Irvine and Tyler Florence.

Finally, the new week brings this year’s showpiece seasonal series, Dear Food Network Holiday. You might have seen the Thanksgiving edition a couple weeks back; if so, the format will be familiar. Viewers sent in videos sharing their cooking woes in a plea for celebrity chef aid, and from Dec. 8 through 11, Santa will come early for a few lucky supplicants. The full slate:

Other holiday programs from both the daytime and primetime schedules make their way into the 7-10 p.m. block next week to surround the new specials with seasonal joy as well. For more info on upcoming holiday programming, check out Food Network’s weekly TV schedule.

And happy holidays!
