Yoplait: Yogurt That Eats Like Cake
Posted by Scott Anderson on Fit Fare
Even though it seemed like an eternity to get to me, the three flavors arrived on my doorstep via a very curious delivery person. Needless to say, I told her is was just yogurt and the James Bond like look quickly faded from her eyes.
I opened the package and put them in cold storage until I could pull them out to taste them on an individual basis.
Pineapple Upside-Down Cake was the most flavorful of the three. It had a very smooth texture with bits of real pineapple intermixed throughout the yogurt. It had a nice aroma of pineapple cake and would have been great atop ice cream if you were not looking to watch the calories.
Strawberry Shortcake had delicious bits of real strawberries in with the yogurt and had a pleasant mouth feel and presence when you took your first spoonful. It finished nicely and was not overly done with strawberries.
Raspberry Cheesecake was the creamiest of the bunch with small pieces of raspberry in each spoonful. The flavor was light yet delicious and would go great with some fresh granola in a bowl.
It was very hard to believe these three flavors only had 110 calories each and were loaded with Calcium and Vitamin D. If you are looking to watch your weight and want some delicious creamy alternatives to heavy fat desserts, then pick up a Yoplait light, you will not be disappointed.
