Rocco DiSpirito on “The Biggest Loser”

The tension is mounting on “The Biggest Loser-Couples.” Tuesday nights at 7pm central time on NBC, you can watch folks from all around the country work to be “The Biggest Loser.” The finals will be held next Tuesday, April 16th with the winner receiving $250,000. I have enjoyed watching this season, not just because of the competition, but because of the health and cooking tips that I’ve learned along the way.
The contestants have been sheltered to a great degree while living on the “The Biggest Loser” campus. Everything is about losing weight with few, if any, big temptations. They spend 7-8 hours a day working out and cook their meals in a very health-friendly kitchen. On this week’s episode, I was glad to see that “The Biggest Loser” organizers are taking the time to also prepare the contestants for life outside the confines of the television environment.
One of the biggest temptations most of us have in trying to eat healthy, especially if we are struggling with weight issues, is being able to eat foods we love in a more healthy way. On this latest episode, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito made his second visit to the Biggest Loser campus, but this time he spent time trimming away fat and calories from their favorite dishes from home and teaching them how to do the same thing when they leave the show.
Even if you missed the show, you don’t have to miss the recipes. You can log onto “The Biggest Loser” website and find out how to make Kelly’s favorite “Chicken Alfredo.” Or Roger’s favorite “Pepper Steak.” Maybe you would prefer Ali’s favorite “Beef Tenderloin,” or perhaps you’d prefer something a little sweeter, like Mark’s “Mint Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt.” They’re all there for your cooking pleasure.
