2007 Food Blog Awards - Nominations

foodblogawards1greysm.jpgWelcome to the 2007 Food Blog Awards, the time to cast a light on some of your favorite food and drink blogs. With new blogs cropping up every day, this is a great opportunity to discover new finds as well as recognize blogs that everyone seems to know about.

Earlier in the week, we announced the schedule for the 2007 Food Blog Awards, and the fourteen categories and distinguished panel of judges. This is the start of the nomination period. You will have from now until Wednesday, December 5th at 11:59 p.m. EST to nominate your favorite food and drink blogs in the below categories. You will have six full days for nominations. Any nominations after that period will not be considered.

There is a brief description accompanying each category below, outlining certain criteria that must be met for the nomination to be considered. The amount of times that a specific blog has been nominated has no bearing on if it makes it into the Top 5 - its nomination only puts it in the running. Only blogs that are nominated during this six-day period will be considered for the Food Blog Awards. (Complete rules can be found here).

If you are a food blogger and would like to spread the word about the Food Blog Awards, feel free to use the badge at the top of this article and link here.

Thanks for hosting this again! But what, no recipes catagory?

LOL! Ha ha ha ha ha.

Cate, do you have any badges we could put up on our sites to spread the word about the FBA nominations?

would agree with rachael… trustworthy recipes are hard to come buy… even enticing recipes, in some cases ;-)

Susan at http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/ has a wonderful writing style that leaves you hanging on every word.

I’ve been trying to understand the rationale behind the six-posts-per-month requirement, but I just can’t. Many of the top sites out there (incl. previous winners, and many nominated here) only post 2-4 times/month, but they are excellent nonetheless. Are you trying to celebrate quantity over quality?

Yes, recipe catagory, please!! :) Pretty please!??!

I also don’t agree with the 6 posts per month requirement. Some of my favorites post once per week every week with high quality posts. On another note, I’ve tried leaving comments several times to nominate my favorite blogs in different categories and none of them are showing up. It’s getting frustrating and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

I really like this blog a lot. Great recipes and commentaries combined with excellent writing make it a pleasure to read.

Why is there no original recipe award this year? Good recipe sites are hard to come by.

Being a native Sacramenten and a total foodie, my vote must go for Elise.com. Very informative. Many different topics. Well written and I love the fact she is a good daughter as she mentions her parents frquently.

This site does more than just talk about food it has an embedded player that delivers the most informative easy to follow video to show you exactly how to make a recipe. I’ve downloaded hundreds of recipes over the years with varied success but these guys hold your hand through every step. It really is like taking a chef home with you which is something that’s proclaimed on the site. If you have any problems the Rouxbe community is there to offer tips to help you have success. http://www.rouxbe.com

“BeFOODled” is a well-written, interesting and thorough blog, full of fun pics, recipes and humour. It is written by Asha and can be found here: http://befoodled.blogspot.com/

As someone somewhat new to the world of food blogging I have been looking forward to this year’s awards. I found so many great food blogs in the winners from last year! Thanks for doing the work to make this all come together.

Thanks for the food blog awards again this year, a great way to discover new blogs. I agree with some of the comments, one post a week is enough, many people don’t have the time for more, but they may have a top notch blog.
