Emeril Leaving Food Network? (Updated)

I have to admit I haven’t watched Emeril Lagasse on the Food Netwok in at least 5 years. The Bam! thing just lost its luster after awhile. Looks like many of you have joined me in migrating away from Emeril, since FishbowlNY is reporting that contract negotiations have broken down and Emeril is leaving the Food Network. Word is that the last day of production for Emeril Live is December 11.
But have no fear Emeril fans! As with the shows of other departed Food Network stars, like Dave Lieberman, Sarah Moulton, and Mario Batali, you will still be able to watch Emeril in reruns.

UPDATE: EdibleTV talked to VP of Public Relations for the Food Network, Carrie Welch, who informs us that while Emeril Live is ceasing production, Emeril is not leaving the network. Essence of Emeril will continue production and Emeril will be involveed in specials and other opportunities in the future. According to Welch: “Food Network and Emeril look forward to continuing our long partnership and Emeril remains an integral part of the Food Network family.”
