Yes, people really rank this sort of stuff.

So, love candy and want a sweet vacation that really zeros in on that love? Perfect! Here are the top 10 vacation destinations for candy lovers, as ranked by the National Confectioners Association:

10. Kansas City, Mo. — Home to Russell Stover headquarters and Andre’s Confiserie Suisse’s elegant Andre’s Tearoom

9. Las Vegas, Nev. — Not quite getting the candy connection here, but apparently they have M&Ms World and some other stuff in addition to the more famous Sin City attractions

8. New Orleans, La. — Home to a number of local confectioners including Evans Creole Candy Factory, Laura’s Candy Shop and Aunt Sally’s Praline Shop

7. Boston, Mass. — Known for revolutionizing Halloween

4. San Francisco, Calif. — Home to Ghirardelli Square, the Scharffen Berger chocolate factory, the Jelly Belly factory and the world’s largest Pez dispenser

When you listed San Francisco you failed to mention home of Red Vines, the best Licorice in the World!

I visited Dylan’s Candy Bar, and it is not any more impressive than Skip’s Candy Corner, Lahaska, PA, in Peddler’s Village,(voted Best Candy Store of Bucks/Montgomery Counties in 2006 & 2007; known for its’ Nostalgic Line of Candies). Peddler’s Village is known for it’s seasonal festivals, such as Strawberry, ScareCrow Contest/Festival, Apple, Grand Illumination, & Gingerbread House Competition. Skip’s is in beautiful Bucks County home to many artists due to the wonderful landscape. It is 5 miles west of the infamouse New Hope, home of artists, about 15 miles from Pearl Buck Home, approx. 30 miles from center city Philadelphia, home of the Liberty Bell, and many chocolate/candy manufacturers in the surrounding area; to name a few: Asher’s Chocolates, Wilbur’s Chocolate, & Plantation Candies. PS: Skip & daughter are ‘poster children’ (Ad’s)for Jelly Belly.
