Chef Bob Blumer will star in Glutton for Punishment, the newest series on the Food Network. Making its debut on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 9:30 PM EST, this half hour show is sure to provide some great entertainment.
Best known as “The Surreal Gourmet,” Blumer will take on a new food or spirits related challenge each week. The debut episode will feature Blumer competing in a hot chile pepper contest where he will attempt to eat as many hot chile peppers as possible at the Hatch Chile Festival in Hatch, New Mexico.
Future episodes will feature Blumer participating in everything from oyster shucking competitions to knife sharpening contests. “Part travel, part epicurean quest, part sporting event, it proves that there’s no distance too far and no challenge too intimidating for a genuine glutton.”

This show is in pretty heavy rotation on the sister but upscale satellite/HD channel “Fine Living”. Hes pretty funny and ends up doing some pretty amazing things.. just wish they had more episodes in the can.
