The Italian Wine Train

Posted by Fabio Ingrosso on Wine Sediments.

Wine_trainIt is called the ‘Montalcino Express’ and it started work last month. The wine train is organised by Roberto Cipresso (2006 Wine Oscar), Giovanni Negri and Fabio Leccisotti in collaboration with the Province of Siena, the Province of Grossetto, Centostazioni, Finanziaria Senese di Sviluppo, Seatrain, SanPellegrino-Acqua Panna, Grana Padano.

The train will travell all around the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany, with four cars decorated in wine colours and 150 places to sit. It starts from Siena, then Sant’Antimo, Castello di Argiano, Castello della Velona, untill Torrenieri: the heart of Brunello.

Every week-end people can admire the wonderful landscapes (wheatfield, hills, vineyards, castles, …) tasting good Brunellos and food, traditional food. Let’s see some prices: 75 euro for adults, 50 euro for under 14.
