The Manic Organic

Manic Organic hosted by Anthony John

Discovery Home has added a new show to its lineup. The Manic Organic originally aired on Food Network Canada and has now been brought to the US. The show combines organic gardening techniques with recipe ideas.

According to the Food Network Canada, “each episode follows a main vegetable and two side vegetables through the life cycle from planting out as seeds to nurturing in the garden without pesticides and finally harvesting and cooking.”

Host Anthony John, reminds me of an earthy and kind Anthony Bourdain. He has that same edgy appearance and he is a lot of fun to watch.

Two episodes of The Manic Organic air each Monday evening at 10:00pm and 10:30pm EST on Discovery Home.

My husband and I love this show!! It is a great resource on cooking fresh organic foods. But the best part is seeing the vegetables from seeds to the plat. Anthony John makes you want to grow organic and try to get as much local & fresh products when ever possible. I am so glad that Discover Home picked up this show. It is a great find for them and I hope they promoted so it can do well. Anthony John seems to have such a love for life and so much energy; it must be all those veggies he eats.
In today’s world we should all think a little more “Manic Organic”.

I am hooked on this show! I love the information - from growing to cooking, and especially the entertaining way it’s delivered. JOB WELL DONE!

I love this show! I’m hoping they will bring it back and record more of them. But I’m having a very difficult time finding his recipes on the web. The Food Network doesn’t seem to carry them anymore and no one else seems to list them either. I’m hoping to find the 2 Jerusalem Artichoke recipes he gave for Tina’s birthday and St. David’s Day.

Just found the show, love it. Informative while being fun. More organic garden shows please!

Anybody remember Anthony John’s tuna salad recipe?

Best combination of organic gardening and “what to do with it” show ever produced. I have all 13 episodes recorded and refer to them regularly. Would love it even more if the recipes were published somewhere. Can’t wait for the new material to be released.

i like your show you make me want to garden.

I love this show! I watch it with Fresh Living with Sara Snow, I hope many more episodes are coming!!!

Hey, I think I want Food Network Canada - their shows look like 100X better than what I get here in the US. *pout*

Love this show!!! Anyone know where you can see his recipes?

I enjoy this show. It combines my interest in gardening as well as cooking in a very informative and comical way. I hope the show is succesful and continues.

Love the show! Would love to know more about organic seeds and where to get them. Need more gardening points for small gardens. Your soil looks so rich we have clay dirt and have spent a fortune trying to make a small garden. We live in Western North Carolina. We do our own compost but is not enough and would love suggestions.
Keep it up-

I love this show. I watch them over and over again. I love how Anthony John shows you how to cook what you’ve grown. I really hope they will come out with new episodes soon. *hint hint*

I absolutely love “living fresh” and the “manic organic”. How do I get recipes from the Manic Organics shows?

Love the show, I run a small organic farm here in the U.S. and really like seeing your techniques on the farm. Please tell me where to get some of your tools like the precision seeder you used for Mache and the one wheel furrow maker you used for potatoes

I absolutely love this show! Antony is really entertaining and very informative. When does the new season start? I’ve seen every show more than once. Still entertaining but I’d also like to see something new.

What is Mr. John’s background. He is a delight to wath. how many acre farm does he have.

My husband enjoys this show and rarely misses it. I find myself distracted by his hair and earrings and goofy stuff he does, having said that , I realize this show entertains and informs and this is probably just his style…..it serves a great purpose and shows how easy and important it is for us to all be a little bit of a manic organic ouselves (smile)

I love the “Manic Organic” show. As someone who plans to grow their own produce. This gives me vital information on the right and wrong ways to grow produce. As someone who has medical reasons as to why organic eating has become common place in our home. I am thankful that I learned about organics before my children were grown I feel that I am giving them much better nutrition than they were getting before. Thanks to Anthony John and others who have influenced me. I have faith that my family is much healthier. And that we are eating the way that God intended for us to.
Thank you and I know that your show will become a great success as many more people come to realize that eating ORGANIC is the healthy way to eat.
Thank you,
