2006 Food Blog Award Winners


Voting closed last night and we now have our 2006 Food Blog Award Winners.  Congratulations to everyone!  Whether you were an award winner, a nominee or one of the thousands of other food bloggers out there, we celebrate your passion for all things food and wine.

The voting was fast and furious, and at least two categories were astoundingly close (group and city).  The list features some time-honored favorites and many new discoveries as well, a wonderful mix of sites celebrating the fantastical word of food blogging.

We had a great selection of prizes donated by very generous companies and individuals, and all winners will also receive a nifty little button to proudly display their win on their websites.

Many thanks to everyone who voted for my blog, especially considering the other awesome finalists in our category. And even more thanks to the Well Fed Network–and especially to the judges for all of their efforts. Winning is wonderful of course, but I think the best part about the whole event was getting a chance to discover some really amazing new (to me) blogs that are out there. Now if only the prize had been three extra hours a day to spend visiting them! : )

I just found out Simply Recipe was voted “Best Food Blog-Overall”. I am so glad. That site has some of the best and tried recipes around. Bravo!

I know only a few of these winners and that’s soooo refreshing. Food blog awards in the past were in a rut of awarding the same five food sites awards. I once observed someone get “best layout” for a standard out of the box typepad template. It was silly. I’m looking forward to perusing the winners in this list. Orangette rules!
