Johanna produces some of the most interesting original recipes. A good example is her appple cranberry creme brulee recipe. It is a takeoff of a rhubarb creme brulee, an unusual combination in itself. Her creativity is never just for the spectacle of something new, but always works to bring the best out of the ingredients.

This is the toughest category for me. I know three of the finalists and would put all three of them up against Gourmet magazine, Bon Appetit and more. I won’t say which they are. The other two look good too (although to my eye not quite as good)
With such a practical and first hand knowledge of cooking in many countries, its recipes are not only very original, but an inspiration to try new elements.
