Hooked on Heat by Meena

Hooked on Heat

Hungry magazine, started in January 2006, though we did back post a few articles written in 2005..http://www.hungrymag.com/.

I like Gezellig Girl.

I’d like to nominate www.talkoftomatoes.com as the best new food blog.

The writing, photos, and recipes are top-notch. Make my mouth water. Best foodie blog I’ve seen this year.

Thanks,

Kerry van der Griend

I feel bad almost doing this because I like so many!

http://chefmanifesto.com - It’s more of a project than a blog. They collect restaurant kitchen stories from readers and post the funnier ones.

Matt Bites

Su-Yin at ‘The Journal of a girl who loves to cook’.

http://cookingismypassion.blogspot.com/

http://www.corduroyorange.com/

The writing is excellent, the topics are interesting, and it’s the only food blog written by my son.

I nominate a blog that started about the same time I did and is always varied and interesting - Real Epicurean.

I’d like to second the nomination for Smitten Kitchen (smittenkitchen.com).

The new blog, corduroyorange.com, by Jesse Sharrard is an amazing addition to the world of cooking, grilling, knife skills and anything else that goes on in the kitchen or relating to the kitchen. The blog is the best food blog I’ve seen; the breadth of content, as alluded to above, makes it entertaining and useful. In addition to interesting yet doable recipes, helpful hints about how to handle kitchen equipment and other food resources, the blog has a fictional story about a chef and food jokes. I really enjoy the variety and humor of the corduroyorange.com and think it is certainly worthy of this award.

http://habeasbrulee.com

Habeas Brulee has it all: great writing, great photography, great recipies, and delicious foods of all kinds. It just doesn’t get better than this, folks.

http://eat2love.wordpress.com - Absolutely the best new kid on the blog.

http://corduroyorange.com
Jesse’s pictures are great–check out the ones accompanying the knife skills demos (http://corduroyorange.com/?p=90). And he’s keeping the site going despite a broken ankle.

Out of all the blogs I read, I look forward to Tea’s posts the most.

http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/

http://ranchogordo.typepad.com

Not just about beans, but really great blog with loads of info.

I nominate A Mad Tea Party: http://madteaparty.wordpress.com/. Interesting ingredients and delicious recipes, all shared with a good sense of humor!

ilovemilkandcookies.blogspot.com

Outstanding new food blog with creative dishes, great photograph and wonderful writing, arrived on the scene in August, Scrumptious Street by Stephanie at http://scrumptious.typepad.com

http://corduroyorange.com/

this blog is an invaluable kitchen tool. i would say i’m constantly looking over my shoulder at the computer screen while cutting vegetables to make sure i’m doing it properly, but that might defeat the purpose of jesse’s knife usage/safety series in the first place. with every meal i cook, i find i’m applying something i learned from corduroy orange; heck, even when i buy gorceries these days, there’s a corduroy orange influence.

http://www.corduroyorange.com - This is a very well-written blog that has it all–technical advice, humor, recipes, and suggestions for improving the quality of one’s diet by using high-quality ingredients. The attention to detail of the how-to lessons is without equal.

Hogwash ( http://jessthomson.wordpress.com/ ) is a new blog started in February by Jess Thomson, and it’s a foodie’s paradise. The witty prose covers everything from recipe posting, to restaurant reviews, to the geopolitics of food, to the daily mishaps of life in (and out) of the kitchen. Although Jess is professionally trained chef, the writing is accessable and engaging to everyone– and just plain fun. Write on, girl!

“Hogwash” by Jess Thomson is the best new fod blog I have read. The writing is hilarious, but also informative. The recipes and food descriptions make me want to stop working and start cooking NOW! Check it out.

Hogwash is anything but. If your culinary side is intimidated by fancy words, ingredients you have never heard of or an organizational nightmare, Hogwash can cure you with informative, creative and witty (did I mention funny?) recipes, reviews, current foodie events and footnotes about Seattle. The dreaded cookbook becomes your favorite reading.

I don’t think it’ll be back up until Monday…with a bit of luck.
Just so you know. http://www.awfulsouls.com/food

Not sure if she’s really eligible, since she has a long history of blogging, but since megnut went all food this year it’s become one of my favorites.

http://www.aidanbrooks.blogspot.com/

Thanks, Lisa, but I’ve I’ve been around for less than 4 months. Remember me for next year, though, hmm?

Great reviews, recipes, and quick tips on how to live more sustainably. Uses humor, and I love the conventional confessions. Also doesn’t just talk about food which keeps it interesting. http://www.sustainablescoop.com

I’ve loved reading Cookthink in the short time it’s been up.

Live! healty foods.
