One of my favorite blogs in terms of writing (and recipes, but that´s another category) is http://smittenkitchen.com

I’d like to nominate www.hungrymag.com.

Her entries are informative and descriptive. Freya has a natural ability to communicate with readers intimately, and her “unusual ingredient” focus is an interesting series that keeps me checking in daily.

Cheers.

The Amateur Gourmet

The writing on this blog is intricate. It is about more than just food: the writer weaves food into her life and letters. Each essay — and she really does write essays — deserves a second reading.

ann of a chicken in every granny cart

http://achickenineverygrannycart.wordpress.com/

http://eattolove.wordpress.com is a must for anybody living in NYC who’s madly in love with food

Another vote for Orangette by Molly. Absolutely the best food writing.

It has to be a blog that I just saw recently for the first time. Molly from Orangette writes in a way that talks with you, rather than to you. Inspirational.

Meena’s Hooked on Heat

Alyha of Turtle in the Kithen in French … http://aturtleinakitchen.blogspot.com/

Smitten Kitchen (smittenkitchen.com)

A few that weren’t mentioned:
David Leibovitz, Chocolate and Zucchini, and The Wendesday Chef.

http://eat2love.wordpress.com - Great writing , funny and sharp.

This blog, Food Writer’s Diary, is an inside look at the outsized personalities and trends shaping the way we eat. The writer’s based in NYC but writes about food around the country for his (dream) job at a leading food trade publication. He is just as likely to rant against a poorly written press release as he is to talk about the etymology of the word kohlrabi, all while celebrating food, drink, and the outsized personalities he meets in the biz.

http://eat2love.wordpress.com gets my nomination. The writing always makes me want to eat what’s on the computer screen…or not, depending on the review.

Full of chocolate - from bean to mouth, Emily covers it all. http://chocolateincontext.blogspot.com/

Fancy Toast is the best!

Hooked on Heat - http://www.hookedonheat.com/

I want to nominate:
http://milorillas.blogspot.com
A delicious and tasteful experience!

Pie Queen! I used to love her Table Ready columns in the SF Bay Guardian. She’s very funny and personal, gives a lot of detail that helps when you actually use her recipes.
http://piequeen.blogspot.com/

The Traveler’s Lunchbox, Melissa is amazing!!

I hereby nominate one of my favorite food blogs, Tea & Cookies (http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/) It is perfectly pitched, funny, engaging, and generally filled with excellent and useful information.

Thanks for all the food bloggy love Tea and Cookies!

http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com

I nominate teaandcookies.blogspot.com - it reminds me how deeply food nourishes every aspect of our lives, not just our bodies!

Tea’s “Tea and Cookies” blog inspires me to cook, makes me salivate and also makes me proud to live in the Bay Area.
http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

I love the Pie Queen’s droolicious ode to lard. I remember lard being used as a boy growing up in Texas and it is heaven to have in a pie or to fry torilla chips in. Everyone is so focused on low fat yet eats SO MUCH CRAP. It’s nice to have somebody who does such an awesome service to the food community in general to bump it up a few notches with not only fab pies but lard crusts too. I put a drool bucket on my laptop when I read her stuff.

I love Tea & Cookies. The writing is both personal and universal, funny and serious. I feel like I’m swept up into the scenes she paints.

i vote for Teaandcookies. it is well written, interesting and the author has a conscience too!!! it goes way farther than just food.

A big vote for Tea and Cookies! http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/

forgot to put in the address:

http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

Tea & Cookies is my vote!

Definitely Tea and Cookies.

(Seems like there are lots who agree with me!)

I nominate Tea and Cookies by Tara Weaver

my vote is the pie queen — about recipes, food, food culture, and humor. http://www.piequeen.blogspot.com

Tea and Cookies gets my vote! http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/

Tea and Cookies is the best there is! I love reading it! http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

http://eat2love.wordpress.com/
Easily the best writing overall.

1. Traveler’s Lunchbox - travelerslunchbox.com
2. Saffron Hut - saffronhut.blogspot.com

http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/ by far my favorite food blog!

I’d like to nominate The Pie Queen at http://www.piequeen.blogspot.com — is she constantly out in the woods getting berries and apples for pies? And then making tasty pies, followed by some chocolate thing? Where can I get work like that?

I vote for Tea & Cookies. I love the combination of food and travel.

http://fancytoast.blogspot.com

The writing at Fancy Toast is always entertaining and informative. It’s the best Food Blog I read!

Only one food blog, Tea and Cookies, has caused me to make a change to my lifestyle: I buy local much more often, and not just food from the farmer’s market. If I’m going to spend money on anything, I try to spend it in the local mom and pop shops instead of a chain store, or if a chain store, a chain store in my town and not in a neighboring city.

On top of that, Tea writes eloquently in a way that makes me care (read: take action) about what she’s discussing, and she takes great photos!

http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

I love the Tea and Cookies food blog and try to visit it every week. Food writing doesn’t get any better than this!
http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

I nominate The Fabulous Pie Queen, www.piequeen.blogspot.com. Not only is she an ultra clever and witty writer, a creative and yummy cook, and a savvy reviewer, she’s an advocate of buying local produce and ingredients, and a devoted Brooklynite. Ethical, smart, fun, a good cook, AND from Brooklyn — what a catch!

Fantastic stories, beautiful pictures, and heartfelt truths pour from the writer’s heart into my head as I read.
Thank you “Tea & Cookies”! (http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)

Tea and Cookies! Tsugoi! Thanks for the blog on sake!

A Finger in Every Pie has wonderful writing, very engaging.

Orangette and Gluten-free girl

I vote for Writing at the Kitchen Table (zombiesnack.blogspot.com). Freya possesses phenomenal talent as a writer. I frequently break out with very audible laughter after reading Freya’s anectdotes and vivid descriptions. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but with imagery that good… I’ll take the grand over the glossy.

My favorite food blog writer is Tara Weaver at http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/

T’s blog at Tea & Cookies (http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/)definitely takes the cake! Besides good recipes for foods around the world, it also offers a slice of life. My vote goes to T from Tean & Cookies.

i vote for Anita’s www.dessertfirst.typepad.com

I nominate Shaun for his fun and interesting blog! http://winterskieskitchenaglow.blogspot.com/

Another nomination for Tea and Cookies!

Why, the wonderfully smart, savvy, charming, and tasteworthy Pie Queen at http://piequeen.blogspot.com, of course. Great recipes, topical talk about goings-on in NYC and SF, and amazingly encyclopedic knowledge of food. Her recent entry on fruitcake, for example, made even this holiday monstrosity an intrigue for me. If you’re not a regular Pie Queen reader, you’re missing out!

Adventures of Pie Queen — snappy, sassy, and incredibly informative. Always a pleasure to read.
It’s at www.piequeen.blogspot.com.

Hi,
I’d like to submit my nomination for the best food blog. “Tea and Cookies” is my hands-down favorite. It’s consistently well written and well informed. The author has a sense of humor as well as wonder about her culinary adventures that usually leave me feeling inspired to try something new wihtout taking myself too seriously.

I want to nominate www.piequeen.blogspot.com for the best recipes award. The Pie Queen’s treats are always amazing!!!

shuna lydon, brilliant, insightful writer extraordinaire. http://eggbeater.typepad.com/

Lots of the usual suspects have lots of votes, so I’ll add another for this one.
http://teaandcookies.blogspot.com/

http://www.piequeen.blogspot.com
This is THE BEST foodblog!

I’d like to nominate Jeanne Horak [CookSister http://cooksister.typepad.com], who writes as well as she cooks; or is it the other way around?.

Jeanne, has a real passion for travelling and food and manages like no other person to combine the two in such a magical way. When reading her blogs you get a real desire to travel to those countries/places and look for those delicacies or try those scrumptious sounding dishes.

I would definately vote for Jeanne’s cooking blog on cooksister (http://cooksister.typepad.com)
